A fire which broke out on a double-decker bus outside a busy shopping centre in Leeds was being treated as arson, police have confirmed.
Fire crews were called to the scene at the White Rose Centre bus terminus shortly after 13:30 GMT on Monday, with plumes of smoke seen pouring from the vehicle’s upper deck.
The terminus, on Dewsbury Road, was closed for a brief period while firefighters tackled the blaze, which left the bus seriously damaged. No injuries were reported.
A crime of arson had been reported in relation to the fire, which was believed to have started at about 13:20 GMT, according to West Yorkshire Police.
Anyone who saw what happened, or who had information about the incident, was asked to get in touch, a force spokesperson said.
