Ashley Barratt, 38, is a wanted man
Police have launched an urgent manhunt for a registered sex offender with connections to Leeds who has absconded. Ashley Barratt is wanted for breaching his notification requirements.
The 38 year old, who also goes by the name Ashley Clarke, has ties to Leeds, Blackburn and Manchester, especially the Piccadilly Gardens district of the city. He is about 5ft 5ins tall, with dark brown hair, green eyes and a distinctive rosary bead tattoo encircling his neck.
Lancashire Police confirmed the registered sex offender has breached his notification requirements, having failed to inform authorities of his residential address, reports Lancs Live.
Members of the public who spot Barratt have been warned not to approach him, but instead to contact authorities by dialling 999 ‘as soon as it is safe to do so’.
In a statement, Blackburn and Darwen Police said: “The man pictured is Ashley Barratt, he is a registered sex offender, and is wanted for failing to comply with his notification requirements. Barratt, who also uses the name Ashley Clarke is 38, 5ft 5in and has dark brown hair and green eyes. He has a distinctive rosary bead tattoo around his neck.
“Barratt has failed to comply with his notification requirements, as he has not notified authorities of his home address. He has links to Blackburn, Leeds and Manchester, particularly the Picadilly Gardens area of the city. If you see him, please do not approach him, and contact us on 999 as soon as it is safe to do so.”
