Two men have been arrested following a stabbing on a narrow passageway in York, police have said.
Emergency services were called to Lady Peckett’s Yard, off Pavement in the city centre, shortly before 01:00 GMT on Sunday, North Yorkshire Police said.
One arrested man was left injured and remains in hospital in a stable condition, officers said, while the second arrested man has been released on police bail while police investigations continue.
The force appealed to speak to a driver and passengers of a dark Toyota Corolla taxi which picked up a fare directly outside a nearby Pizza Hut restaurant at 12:40 GMT as they may have witnessed the incident.
