This week’s round-up of the latest and upcoming roadworks
Though they can be frustrating for drivers, they are necessary to keep our roads in good condition and utilities up and running. There are roadworks ongoing in and around the city, some of which are long-term projects.
Here is your list of key ongoing roadworks and those getting underway in the area this week, as announced by Hull City Council.
A63 improvement scheme – St James Street to Market Place: Major A63 Improvement scheme – full infrastructure change, operating under a Development Control Order which gives the powers to National Highways to implement this scheme. Lane and road closures until completion of scheme in Spring 2026. More details on related closures in January can be found here.
Albion Street/Prospect Street: Yorkshire Water repairing burst water main at the junction of Albion Street/Prospect Street. Multi-way signals in place. From January 15 – January 21.
Anlaby Road: Northern Gas replacing gas pipe at the junction of Anlaby Road to outside 700. Road closure in place. From January 5 – January 30.
Anlaby Road: Yorkshire Water repairing burst water main at the junction of Albert Avenue and St Georges Road. Multi-way signals in place. From January 15 – January 21.
Barham Road: Yorkshire Water repairing consequential damage opposite number 228. Two-way signals in place. On January 19.
Beverley Road: Northern Gas replacing gas pipe at the junction of Fountain Road to Station Drive. Contraflow in place. From January 5 – January 30.
Beverley Road: Northern Gas lining Lining and anti-skid at the junction of Stand Close. Multi-way signals in place. (9.30am to 3.30pm only.) On January 19.
Bodmin Road: Yorkshire Water repairing burst water main. Two-way signals in place. From January 14 – January 20.
Calvert Lane: Northern Gas replacing gas pipe at the junction of Anlaby Road. Multi-way signals in place. January 15 – January 30.
Endike Lane: Carriageway resurfacing and concrete trench reconstruction between Keswick Gardens and Greenwood Avenue roundabout. Road closure in place. On January 23.
Gibraltar Road: Telecom pole swap at the junction of Roebank roundabout. Road closure in place. (8pm to 6am only.) From January 19 – January 23.
High Street: Yorkshire Water installing new service connection outside number 58. Multi-way signals in place. From January 19 – January 23.
Holderness Road: Rectify anti-skid. Lane closure in place. On January 25.
Hopewell Road: New water connection outside 276 to 181. Road closure in place. From January 5 – January 23.
Humber Dock Street: Public realm works, road closure in place. Works are to take place on the public right of way along Humber Dock Street between junctions with Blanket Row and Humber Street. From February 3 – April 30.
Main Road: Replacing gas pipe outside 9 to 93. Multi-way signals in place. From January 5 – February 13.
Mount Pleasant: Telecom pole swap at the junction of Holderness Road. Road closure in place. (8pm to 6am only.) From January 26 – January 30.
National Avenue: Northern Power Grid renewing mains cable from the junction with Bontoft Avenue. Multi-way signals in place. From January 15 – February 11.
Princes Dock Street: Works are part of Hull Public Realm development scheme. Road closure in place. From February 3 – April 30.
Strickland Street: Install new service connection near the junction of Fishermans Walk. Two-way signals in place. From January 22 – January 26.
