Huddersfield station will close again during the weekends of July and the first weekend in August for maintenance work – meaning significant disruption for passengers.
It is the latest stage of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) – a major modernisation project aimed at transforming train services across the north of England.
The station previously closed for about a month in September 2025, as part of an earlier phase of the works.
Network Rail is urging passengers to “check before they travel” but said rail replacement buses and route diversions have been put in place to help minimise disruption.
The work will include the installation of a new station roof and an extension to a new footbridge.
Tarmacing work will also take place on new platform extensions at the Leeds end of the station, while new lifts will be installed and tested.
The upgrades will take place across five consecutive weekends:
