• Vacant retail store could be split up into seven retail units: The former Hull home of camping specialists Winfields Outdoors could be converted into seven individual retail units. An application for a certificate of lawfulness to convert the one retail store at 283-287 Hessle Road into seven has been made by Manchester-based Prime Sterling Property. Submitted plans indicate there would be three separate retail units each on the ground and first floors, and one unit on the second floor. Two of the three ground floor units would have their entrances via Harrow Street.
• Skirlington Market to make way for holiday park’s transformation: Planning permission has been granted to Unity Holidays plans to make changes to Skirlington Coast Yorkshire, located between Bridlington and Hornsea. Approval has been granted to a new entertainment area feature, including a new food and drinks pavilion. The £20m transformation proposals met with opposition, however, as they will bring to an end the 40-year long use of the holiday park’s car park to host Skirlington Market. More than 12,000 people signed a petition in opposition. One part of the application, for 92 extra caravan spaces to compensate for coastal erosion, has been deferred.
• Padel leisure centre proposed in Brough: A multi-million pound padel leisure centre has been proposed on land west of Primrose House on Bluebird Way, Brough. It is estimated it would create 50 jobs when operational. The Kingston Club facility would include a number of leisure and sports uses, a gym and a café. Subject to planning approval, the club aims to open its doors next Summer.
