A Brandesburton resident affected by the power cut said: “I’d just had the kettle on when it happened so I could at least make my cup of tea! With it being so warm today I’m mindful of not opening the fridge or freezer if I can help it. We’re not strangers to power outages in this village, we have had quite a few since we moved here, you just have to manage. You do worry about people for whom power is much more a necessity, such as those with medical issues or local businesses.
