Darren’s family said he ‘brought warmth and joy to those around him’
A motorcyclist who died in a road traffic collision near Burton Pudsea on Friday, 28 August 2026 has been named by his family as 38-year-old Darren Higgins. They continue to be supported by specially-trained officers following the tragedy. Paying tribute to Darren, his family said: “Darren was a cherished son to Michelle, a much-loved brother to Kaisha, Sammi and Danielle and a caring Grandson who brought warmth and joy to those around him. “Beloved father to Keylan and a true friend to many. Darren will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him”.
The incident happened on Fieldend Lane near Burton Pidsea just after 3pm. Police said at the time that a dark-coloured Suzuki motorcycle is reported to have been travelling towards Burton Pidsea when it “left the carriageway and collided with a boundary fence”
Enquiries remain ongoing to determine the full circumstances around the collision, and Humberside Police said: “We would ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident, has any information, including dashcam footage leading up to the collision, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 296 of 28 August”
