Huddersfield Giants head coach Jim Lenihan said:
“I’m really happy with the guys, going down to 12 for 40, 50 minutes. For us to fight through that and do really well, I’m very proud of the guys, very proud of the effort.
“It was really important for us to put in a proud physical effort in the last game at home in front of our crowd.”
Castleford Tigers assistant coach Luke Robinson said:
“I felt really, really sorry for Cas fans. They came out and in that first 20 minutes, they were singing and shouting, they were brilliant.
“The season they’ve had, the fact that they still turned up and were singing, I thought was commendable.
“I spoke to the lads and I told them they’ve done the fans a disservice. They just weren’t good enough.
“There is a lot that needs changing. The club are aware of that but things need to change in pretty much every department.”
