Two schools have been closed and a number of properties in Baildon are without water due to a fault in the network, according to Yorkshire Water.
The firm said an area around Temple Rhydding Drive was experiencing “no water or low water pressure” and it would take an estimated four to six hours to fix.
Hoyle Court School and Baildon C of E Primary School have both confirmed they will be closed for the rest of the day as a result of the problem.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: “We’re aware that a number of properties in Baildon are currently without water supply and we apologise for the inconvenience.”
They added: “At this stage, we believe this is down to a fault in the network, rather than a burst water main, but we have a technician on the way to investigate and get everyone back on supply as soon as possible.”
A spokesperson for Baildon C of E Primary School said: “School has closed because it has no hot water.
“We hope to have this fixed as soon as possible and school is planning to be open on Monday.”
Baildon resident and parent Jon Eaton, who has two children at Baildon C of E Primary School, said it had been a “total nightmare”.
“On our road, there are three different families all working with different organisations, all of them struggling around for childcare, including one nurse who actually works in maternity,” he said.
“People who are closer to the school haven’t got water. They’re really struggling using up water supplies that they’ve got in case of emergency to flush the toilet and things like that.”
