Fifty-nine nitrous oxide canisters, six boxes of suspected steroids, illegal cigarettes and vapes have been seized by police during a shop raid in West Yorkshire.
Officers had a warrant to search a shop on Huddersfield Road in Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury, as part of an investigation into the supply of illegal drugs in the area.
Police said the recovered items had an estimated street value of £2,000, with the nitrous oxide accounting for more than £1,000.
Insp Amanda Holroyd, of Kirklees Police, said: “The illegal supply of drugs and the associated violent crime it so often brings is a blight on communities and tackling this kind of offending is a real priority for us in Ravensthorpe.”
West Yorkshire Police said abuse of nitrous oxide had been linked to suffocation through lack of oxygen, nerve and heart damage and mental health abuse as well as contributing to road deaths.
