Most people cannot even hold a drink when they are among the crowd at the front of a gig – but for Yorkshire artist Sam Joesbury, being thrown around in the mosh pit is where he creates his best work.
The 22-year-old, from York, started drawing at concerts last year, and what started as a hobby has led to him sketching at several gigs a week, sharing his work on social media and gaining thousands of fans online.
“It was all a bit of a joke and a laugh until I realised no one else is doing this and it is actually really fun,” he said.
“Some of the favourite bands I’ve drawn live include Basht, who I am on tour with now, but also Turnstile live at the Piece Hall, Fontaines D.C. at Leeds Festival and Kneecap, who were just crazy.”
