Latest Hull and East Riding planning decisions and applications
- East Riding Council has granted planning approval to a new petrol station and convenience store in Beverley. A new ‘Sewell On the Go’, also consisting of EV charging points will be built on Swinemoor Lane on the site of the former Evans Halshaw showroom. Sewell On the Go Managing Director, Patrick Sewell, said: “We’re delighted that East Riding planning officers have seen the benefits of the scheme and given us approval we can’t wait to work alongside our partners BP and Co-op to create a bright and modern convenience store that will serve the people of Beverley and commuters.”
- Plans have been submitted to East Riding Council which seek permission to convert former piggeries into 4 one-bed homes. The boundaries of the piggeries, which are located off Westgate in North Cave, would remain largely unchanged whilst plans say the existing asbestos roof will be removed and replaced with insulated profiled zinc sheeting.
- East Riding Council has approved plans to turn a former pub into a specialist school. The former Waggoners on Sutton Road, Wawne is to be transformed into a specialist co-educational facility accommodating up to 45 students aged 9-18. Plans submitted to the council said: “Following a comprehensive site search, The Waggoners was identified as the most suitable and deliverable premises to meet the operational, safeguarding and curriculum needs of an SEN school.”
- Plans to convert a Grade II listed building in Hull’s Old Town into flats have been submitted to Hull City Council. The five-storey, former Burstalls Solicitors office on Lowgate could become 17 apartments if plans are approved. The building would almost entirely consist of one-bed flat, with just 1 two-bed, and 1 three-bed also proposed.
