Fifteen fire crews have been called to deal with large grass fire on a farmer’s field near the M1.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) said it was called to the blaze on Woodhouse Lane, East Ardsley, just before 14:00 BST.
No information has been released about the cause of the fire or whether any injuries have been reported.
In a statement WYFRS said: “If you live nearby, please keep your windows and doors closed due to smoke in the area and avoid the vicinity where possible while emergency services respond to the incident.”
