The ongoing and upcoming works around the city

Motorists across Hull are being advised to be aware of possible delays over the coming weeks as Hull City Council and a number of utility providers carry out maintenance, carriageway resurfacing, and infrastructure upgrades across the city.
The authority’s latest travel update highlights a range of ongoing and upcoming roadworks expected to stretch into September and beyond. Commuters should prepare for road closures, temporary lane restrictions, and multi-way traffic signals on major routes, including Pickering Road, Falkland Road, and around the Wawne Road roundabout.
Here is the complete breakdown of scheduled roadworks continuing past August 30:
- Anlaby Road: September 1 to September 14 – Multi-way signals in place for MUA Electricity to excavate and install HV ducting on road crossing and HV cable route.
- Carden Avenue: August 6 to September 4 – Multi-way signals in place for Northern Powergrid utility works outside number 17.
- Chanterlands Avenue: August 3 to September 6 – Multi-way signals in place for Northern Powergrid utility works at the junction of Murryfield Road.
- County Road South: August 27 to September 3 – Two-way signals in place for Yorkshire Water to repair a burst water main opposite 138A.
- Cleveland Street: September 1 to September 2 – Multi-way signals in place for Yorkshire Water to provide and fix a frame cover near the junction of St Mark Street.
- County Road North: September 1 to September 4 – Two-way signals in place for MS3 to install nine new telecom poles.
- Douglas Road: August 20 to August 31 – Multi-way signals in place for Yorkshire Water to repair a burst water main near 108.
- Ennerdale: March 2 to October 29 – Lane closure in place for Hull City Council roundabout improvement works.
- Ennerdale: August 25 to September 1 – Multi-way signals in place for Yorkshire Water to repair a burst water main at the junction of The Croft.
- Falkland Road: May 11 to September 17 – Phased road closures in place for Hull City Council carriageway resurfacing scheme.
- George Street: August 17 to September 6 – Road closure in place from Wilberforce Drive to Freetown Way junctions for Vital Energi to install district heating pipework and comms ducting as part of the Hull District Heat Network.
- Lambwath Road: September 7 to September 18 – Multi-way signals in place for Northern Gas Networks utility works at the junction of Glenwood Close/Summergangs Road.
- Meadowbank Road: August 10 to September 9 – Road closure in place for Hull City Council to install traffic calming measures near the junction of Morris Road.
- Mirfield Grove: August 27 to September 16 – Two-way signals in place for Northern Powergrid utility works.
- New Bridge Road: September 7 to September 11 – Two-way signals in place for MS3 to excavate and rectify defect.
- Noddle Hill Way: August 24 to September 7 – Multi-way signals in place for BT telecom works at the junction of Castlehill Road.
- Pickering Road: September 1 to October 12 – Road closure in place for Hull City Council carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing scheme.
- Rawling Way: September 4 to September 4 – Multi-way signals in place for Hull City Council to take cores of the existing carriageway.
- Saltshouse Road: August 17 to September 1 – Two-way signals in place for Yorkshire Water permanent reinstatement near Wilberforce College.
- Sibelius Road: August 26 to September 2 – Multi-way signals in place for Yorkshire Water to repair a burst water main at the junction of Anlaby Park Road North.
- Southcoates Lane: September 1 to September 6 – Multi-way signals in place for Yorkshire Water utility works at the junction of Rosmead Street.
- Spring Bank: September 7 to September 11 – Lane closure in place for MS3 to excavate and rectify defect.
- Summergangs Road: September 7 to September 25 – Multi-way signals in place for Northern Gas Networks utility works from the junction of Glenwood Close to the junction of James Reckitt Avenue.
- Sutton Way: August 13 to September 4 – Two-way signals in place for Northern Powergrid utility works.
- Swann Street: September 3 to September 4 – Multi-way signals in place for 3G UK telecom works at the junction of Lincoln Street.
- Wawne Road roundabout: May 8 to October 2 – Road closure in place for Hull City Council improvement scheme on the roundabout connecting Bude Road, Wawne Road, and Holwell Road.
