‘We’re incredibly proud that this growth is happening here in East Yorkshire’
A Hull holiday home manufacturer is set to welcome more than 250 people for a fun-filled garden party. Part of the Rix Group, Victory Leisure Homes has been crafting holiday homes and lodges since 2009, selling its caravans to parks across the UK.
And the firm’s showground will welcome crowds of people tomorrow for its annual garden party. The event will also showcase its new models set to go on sale next year.
Taking place from 10am to 4pm, attendees will be able to explore 27 homes and lodges across the Gilberdyke showground, and Victory Leisure Homes and its sister company Prestige Homeseeker will also put on live music and competitions. Gary Corlyon, managing director of Victory and Prestige, said: “This year’s Garden Party is shaping up to be the biggest and best one yet, with more visitors and more holiday homes on show than ever before.
“We have 250 confirmed attendees so far, ranging from holiday park operators, home and lodge owners, members of the media and suppliers. Everyone is welcome – the more the merrier!”
Mr Corlyon said there will be food and refreshments available, including a champagne garden, coffee van, and premium street food vendor, Shoot The Bull, alongside live music. There will also be free-to-enter competitions throughout the event, with prizes including an iPad and Ooni Pizza Oven, as well as surprises to be announced on the day.
He added: “It’s all designed to be relaxed, informal and completely at your own pace. There’s no pressure and no rushing. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to have your own holiday home, you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions, gather ideas and imagine yourself in a stunning new home on one of the UK’s beautiful parks.
“We’ll have two of the latest Victory models – Lakewood and Cotswold – available to view, as well as Prestige’s Dryft model, which is new to the showground.” The party comes as Victory toasts significant growth.
It now employs more than 250 people across its Hull manufacturing base and headquarters, as well as its showground in Gilberdyke and has increased its workforce by more than 90% over the past 18 months. Bosses say the business is currently recruiting across all areas of production at its manufacturing site to meet increased demand.
Gary added: “We’re incredibly proud that this growth is happening here in East Yorkshire. We have a hugely skilled team in Hull and we’re continuing to invest in the business and in our site – with jobs across all skill levels available that come with good progression opportunities and training. “
Rix Group can trace its roots back to 1873, when J.R. Rix & Sons Ltd was initially launched. The group today has an extensive portfolio of business activities including oil distribution, renewable energy installations, shipping and warehousing.
The group acquired Prestige to add to its portfolio in 2024, to build on its holiday home and lodge portfolio manufactured by Victory Leisure Homes. The company became sole shareholder in Prestige Communities Group Ltd – the parent company of well-known residential brand Prestige – for an undisclosed sum.
