Charles Heslett/BBCA cordon has been put in place in the centre of Bradford after contractors reported finding a “suspicious item” while clearing a building.
West Yorkshire Police said officers were called to an address in Sunbridge Road shortly after 09:30 GMT when the item was discovered.
A cordon has been put in place between the road’s junction with Grattan Street and its junction with Tetley Street with officers from the Army’s bomb disposal unit present.
A police spokesperson said the cordon was in place “as a precaution” but that no properties had needed evacuation.
Charles Heslett/BBCPhotos taken at the scene show a Bomb Disposal vehicle parked across the road close to the junction with Vincent Street with a bomb disposal robot next to it.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it had one crew in attendance at the scene.
